Jill Sparks is an emerging artist who lives in Burlington, Ontario. For several years, she took drawing and painting classes at various art schools, including the Burlington Art Centre and the Dundas Valley School of Art. She has since developed her own intensive program of study to inspire her artistic development. She paints primarily in oils. Growing up on the Grand River, Jill was fascinated from an early age by the rocks, trees, and water of the Ontario landscape. Her current series of paintings explores the trees of the Niagara escarpment, which often seem to root themselves in solid rock. She hopes that her work may inspire others to share her sense of wonder at the adaptability yet fragility of nature.
