Doug Andrews SCA The beauty of the countryside and scenes from everyday farm life are favourite subjects of Doug’s paintings. Raised on a farm north of Norwood, he was encouraged to paint by his mother, who is also a painter. He pursued art at Crestwood Secondary School, and the Ontario College of Art, where he came to appreciate the fundamental importance of life drawing in enabling artists to see and draw. 1n 2005, Doug was elected into membership of the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA). He also belongs to and exhibits with the East Central Ontario Arts Association (ECOAA), Kawartha Artists Gallery & Studios (KAGS) and Spirit of the Hills (Northumberland Hills Arts Association). Doug exhibits and sells his work from Ander-Vale Art Gallery & Gardens, his home east of Peterborough. His paintings are held in private collections in Ontario, Manitoba, Québec and British Columbia as well as in the United States and New Zealand.
