Born in Windsor Ontario in 1930. Retired as Head of the Science Dept. at Chatham Kent Secondary School in 1992. My wife Nancy and I (and our two daughters) discovered Killarney Provincial Park in the late 1970’s. We volunteered for the position of host and hostess for the park in the summer months of the 1980’s. It was during these years that I became acquainted with many visiting artists that got me interested in painting. Their helpful tutoring and attending workshops given by St. Clair College, I soon developed a passion and love for the art. It offered me a rich and satisfying activity when I retired. I work basically in acrylics (but do not exclude oils) and eclectic in style and subject matter. I have painted over 300 canvases, half of which I have given to relatives, friends and charities (e.g. “Literature for Life” in Toronto and “Maycourt” in Chatham. In 2012, Prof. Jose Scone (School of Arts, U of Windsor) selected one of my paintings to be displayed and judged at the Chatham Art Gallery for the “Eye for Art” exhibit featuring some of the best works of the regions artists.
