Welcome to the 9th Annual Desmond Juried Art Exhibit and Sale 2014

Founded in 2006, this annual event invites artists and art lovers to celebrate the poetry and drama of our diverse Canadian landscape and rural culture.

Hosted on the beautiful grounds of the University of Guelph at Ridgetown, in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, the showing is a tremendous opportunity for visitors to experience rural Canada through the eyes of a diversity of artists. Works include oils, acrylics, watercolours, sculpture, photography, mixed media and performance art.

Notably, the Desmond Juried Art Exhibition and Sale is the only opportunity for artists to introduce their works in Southwestern Ontario.

The event opens with an invited gala where artists and guests are able to discuss the displayed pieces over refreshments. The evening concludes with the jury awards presentation.

Visitors are encouraged to attend early in the showing, as sales are generally brisk. Since we have created the theme for the exhibition being "Celebrating Rural and Small Town Living" in 2007, on average, over thirty percent of displayed works are sold during the show.
