While I'm not formally trained, I have attended workshops hosted by Linda Kemp, John Lovett, John Fisher and Shelley Pryor. An award winning artist, my work has been accepted in a variety of juried exhibitions, including Eye for Art, Desmond Exhibition, Georgina World of Art, Creative Catalyst Portrait Exhibition, CCP Design for Summer, CCP Fall Art Show, Chatham-Kent’s Tastefest and On The Edge. My recent work is held internationally in private collections in the United States, Canada, Australia, Belgium, France and England. Many of my paintings can be viewed at www.charmingart.org. I am one of 20 artists who collaborated in a world-wide painting project called the Global Village Round Robin. The painting traveled almost 40,000 miles, passing through 8 countries and 5 continents before it was finally finished on November 11, 2003! It was auctioned on Ebay and the proceeds were donated to a school building project in China. My painting entitled “A World in Mourning” was selected and auctioned in 2005 to donate funds on behalf of the Canadian Red Cross for the Tsunami Relief. In 2007, I was commissioned to paint the Baltimore City Fire Department’s newest fireboat acquisition, the John H. Frazier! It was an exciting and rewarding experience. I continue to meet the challenge of commissions in portraiture including people, pets and homes! Retired from my full time job outside the home, I now teach Art from my home Studio along with Workshops at the Chatham-Kent Cultural Centre. I am currently displaying work at ARTSpace, where I’ve led one day Art Camps for emerging watercolourists.
