Wendy Carmichael Bauld Back-roads Honourable Mention Acrylic on Canvas As an artist, I draw inspiration from my happy childhood in a quaint picturesque village. The classical way in which I learned to draw prompted me to practice as much as possible, which I spent many years doing. It was only when I felt I had become proficient in the basics that I made the leap to paint with acrylic and then oil. My preference on any given day ultimately balances out equally between figurative and landscape and are a tangible record of the world seen through my eyes. People often describe me as "driven" in my need to be creative and I often cross that line between passion and obsession…and I wouldn't have it any other way. To me, everything is a painting. When I'm not painting, I'm thinking about painting. |
