Statement:
Again from the roadside, I was impressed by the rolls of hay in the field with the barn in the background. The composition is framed by trees in the foreground. Yellow sky was created to add drama.



The Curious Cow

Statement:
In a drive through the countryside, we came across with this herd of cattle. One of the cows got interested in us and separated from the herd to say hello. I also photographed him close up and he seemed to enjoy it. When we left he kept looking after us. I still remember his intelligent eyes.



Janos Gardonyi, B. Arch (Hons.), OAA (ret.) MRAIC is a retired architect and photographer of Hungarian origin. He came to Canada in 1957 and completed his education at the University of Toronto, School of Architecture in 1962 with a Bachelor of Architecture (Hons.) degree. He had been Chief Architect for Orlando Corporation for 16 years and responsible for design and execution of many high rise office towers, shopping plazas, commercial and industrial developments.
Upon retirement, among other things, he turned to artistic photography and exhibited extensively in art galleries and other public places in Toronto and vicinity. To date he has held over 40 exhibitions with many sales.
He has won 2nd price in an international competition and exhibited some images at Contact 2007, Toronto Photography Festival. In 2009 he was finalist in Concourse Photographique ‘Ombres & Lumieres’ – Paris, within 20 of 674 entries. Currently in another running international exhibition ‘Wipplay Photo Contest’ from Paris, he consistently places within the first 20, sometimes 10 of over 800 entries. He is associated with at least 5 Toronto Galleries and just recently exhibited at the J.D. Carrier Art Gallery and sold all his work.
His subjects include landscapes, townscapes, architectural and historical photography and many images collected in his extensive foreign travels. He is also interested in digital artwork and abstract images.
He is married with two grown daughters and a grandson.
